Next-gen launch with next-gen upgrades.

What you need to know

  • Dirt 5 is the latest in a long line of off-road racing games in the Dirt series.
  • It’s coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 6, with early access available for some early buyers.
  • However, Dirt 5 is now also planned to launch on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S day one, or November 10.
  • The game will also feature up to 4K resolution at 60fps, with a 120fps option as well.

Dirt 5 has already been delayed a handful of times, but the latest release date seems to be pretty confident. Codemasters’ newest off-road racing game will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 6, and if you shell out for the Amplified Edition you can jump in three days earlier than everyone else. However, Codemasters also announced today that Dirt 5 is also coming to the Xbox Series X and freshly announced Xbox Series S on November 10, 2020, the same day the next-gen consoles launch.

Not only that, but Dirt 5 will support Xbox Smart Delivery, meaning the next-gen consoles will also benefit from next-gen experiences, with up to 4K resolution at 60fps available, with a 120fps option as well, all at no additional cost. This means early next-gen buyers will get the best Dirt 5 experience at no additional cost, the first day they turn on their new console.

Alongside the announcemet, Dirt 5 is also getting a new gameplay trailer, so be sure the check it out for some frozen nighttime action ahead of the games launch later this year. Finally, Dirt 5 has been confirmed for PS5, with the same next-gen upgrade being available for free, but with no pricing or release date information for the Playstation 5 yet, it’s not certain when that’s going to happen, or if Dirt 5 will be a launch title.
