A next-gen launch title for next-gen consoles.
What you need to know
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the next entry in the Yakuza franchise, and is hotly anticipated.
- The title has a release date of November 13, but was also confirmed for launch on the Xbox Series X, with Playstation 5 down the road.
- Now that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S have been announced for November 10, 2020, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has altered the release date.
- The game is officially a launch title for the next-gen Xbox’s, although current gen consoles are a little more uncertain.
We already knew that Yakuza: Like a Dragon was planned for November 13, with a planned launch on the Xbox Series X, but plans are changing a little bit now that the official release date for the next-gen Xbox family has been revealed. The Xbox Series X and newly announced Xbox Series S are coming November 10, 2020. Because of this, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has shifted its release date back a few days to match the next-gen consoles.
This means that Yakuza: Like a Dragon officially joins the growing ranks of launch titles for Xbox Series X and S like Dirt 5, Gears Tactics, and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. What’s still a tad unclear is what happens to the original release date of November 13, 2020 for current-gen platforms like the Xbox One and PS4. While it would make sense for the game to release on all platforms November 10, 2020, that hasn’t quite been confirmed yet.
Either way, things are seriously ramping up for November, with the Xbox Series X and Series S taking the field and dominating with a growing launch lineup. Pre-orders open September 22, 2020, so early buyers can reserve their spot early and ensure they’re ready for next-gen gaming.
