These new exotics may end up being some of the most powerful in the game.

What you need to know

  • Destiny developer Bungie has shown off some brand new gear coming in Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion.
  • There are exotic weapons and exotic armor coming.
  • These exotics are themed around use of the Darkness, which is a running theme with Beyond Light.

Destiny developer Bungie has revealed some of the brand new pieces of gear that will be available to players when the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion releases on November 10. Specifically, there are four new exotic weapons and two pieces of exotic armor for each class. All of the weapons and armor are themed around usage of the Darkness, which is also the overall theme of the Beyond Light expansion itself.

Some of the standout exotic weapons include the No Time to Explain auto rifle that can summon a Darkness portal that can absorb damage, and The Lament, a sword that is specifically designed to kill Barrier Champion enemies quickly. Meanwhile, Hunters have gotten the best of the exotic armors — the Mask of Bakris allows them to replace their dodge with a short teleport, while the Arthrys’s Embrace makes their weighted knife slide and ricochet off walls. In truth, though, all of the new exotic gears look like they’ll be quite powerful. Make sure to check out all the new gear in detail here.
